A federal grand jury has indicted Anthony Devine, 35, of Benton, Pennsylvania, on two counts related to the distribution of methamphetamine. The indictment was unsealed after Devine’s initial court appearance and arraignment on August 18, 2025.

Acting United States Attorney John C. Gurganus stated that Devine is accused of distributing more than five grams of methamphetamine in Columbia County on May 30, 2024, and over 50 grams on June 5, 2024.

The investigation was conducted by the Pennsylvania State Police and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Assistant U.S. Attorney Alisan V. Martin is prosecuting the case.

Authorities noted that this prosecution falls under Operation Take Back America (https://www.justice.gov/dag/media/1393746/dl?inline), a nationwide initiative by the Department of Justice aimed at addressing illegal immigration, eliminating cartels and transnational criminal organizations, and protecting communities from violent crime. The operation coordinates resources from programs such as Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETFs) and Project Safe Neighborhood (PSN).

If convicted, Devine faces a maximum penalty for each offense that could include life imprisonment, a fine, and supervised release. Sentencing would be determined by a judge who considers federal statutes and sentencing guidelines.

Officials emphasized that indictments are allegations only; those charged are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
