Curwensville man admits guilt in federal methamphetamine charge

A Curwensville resident has entered a guilty plea in federal court concerning narcotics violations, as announced by Acting United States Attorney Troy Rivetti. Jason Lentz, aged 31, admitted to Count One of the Indictment before United States District Judge Stephanie L. Haines on June 17, 2025.

The court was informed that in January 2024, within the Western District of Pennsylvania, Lentz had possession with intent to distribute more than 50 grams of methamphetamine.

Sentencing for Lentz is set for October 14, 2025. The law stipulates a sentence ranging from a minimum of ten years to life imprisonment and fines up to $10 million. The actual sentence will be determined based on the offense’s severity and any prior criminal history.

Assistant United States Attorney Maureen Sheehan-Balchon is leading the prosecution for this case. The investigation involved collaboration between the Pennsylvania State Police, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, and the Drug Enforcement Administration.
