A former resident of Duncansville, Pennsylvania, has been sentenced to 30 months in federal prison followed by three years of supervised release. The sentence was handed down for her involvement in a methamphetamine trafficking organization, according to Acting United States Attorney Troy Rivetti.

United States District Judge Stephanie L. Haines imposed the sentence on Tonya Settlemyer, aged 40. The court heard that Settlemyer assisted Jason Lynn, who led an Altoona-based drug trafficking organization distributing large quantities of methamphetamine across the Western District of Pennsylvania.

Assistant United States Attorney Jonathan D. Lusty prosecuted the case on behalf of the government. Acting United States Attorney Rivetti praised several agencies for their role in the investigation and successful prosecution. These included the Drug Enforcement Administration, United States Postal Service—Office of Inspector General, United States Postal Inspection Service, Homeland Security Investigations, Internal Revenue Service, Pittsburgh Bureau of Police, and Pennsylvania State Police.

The prosecution is part of an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF) investigation. OCDETF focuses on identifying and dismantling high-level drug traffickers and criminal organizations threatening the United States through a collaborative approach involving multiple law enforcement agencies.
