A federal jury found Clint Addleman, 49, of Clearfield, Pennsylvania, guilty on all charged counts related to a fatal bombing and drug conspiracy, United States Attorney Troy Rivetti announced on March 19. The verdict followed a seven-day trial before United States District Judge Stephanie L. Haines in Johnstown.
The case centers on the October 2019 death of a Clearfield woman who was killed when a bomb concealed in a package detonated inside her apartment. Prosecutors said Addleman and his co-defendant, Kris Nevling, constructed and delivered the device as part of an effort to collect an outstanding drug debt owed by the victim.
According to evidence presented at trial, the package containing the bomb was left outside the victim’s first-floor apartment early in the morning on October 4, 2019. The explosion killed the victim and caused a fire that destroyed the building. The jury determined that her death resulted from both conspiracy to maliciously destroy property by explosive or fire and malicious destruction of property by explosive or fire offenses. Addleman was also convicted of conspiring to distribute methamphetamine between January and October 2019.
Judge Haines scheduled sentencing for Addleman on July 22, with potential penalties including up to life imprisonment and fines up to $250,000. Sentencing will be determined according to federal guidelines based on offense severity and criminal history.
Nevling was previously convicted in August 2025 for similar charges related to the incident; his sentencing is set for March 25. Assistant United States Attorneys Maureen Sheehan-Balchon and Samantha A. Stewart, along with Special Assistant United States Attorney Shaun E. Sweeney, prosecuted the case.
The investigation involved the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, Clearfield Regional Police Department, and Pennsylvania State Police.
