Tiriq Henson, a former wheelchair assistant at Philadelphia International Airport, was sentenced to nine days in prison and two years of supervised release for violating airport security requirements. The sentence was handed down by United States District Judge Gail A. Weilheimer.

According to court documents, on March 9, 2024, Henson allowed his associate, David Easley, to bypass airport security by using Henson’s security badge and credentials. This enabled Easley to enter the secure boarding area without undergoing the required screening procedures.

Henson pleaded guilty in September of last year to one count of entering an airport area in violation of security requirements. Easley also pleaded guilty to the same offense in July and received a term of imprisonment.

United States Attorney David Metcalf announced the sentencing and noted that the case was investigated by the FBI with support from the Transportation Security Administration and the Philadelphia Police Department. Assistant United States Attorney Priya De Souza prosecuted the case.

“This case was investigated by the FBI, with significant assistance from the Transportation Security Administration and the Philadelphia Police Department, and prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Priya De Souza,” according to U.S. Attorney David Metcalf.
