The United States Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania has announced that Erikx Soto-Gomez, a 41-year-old Guatemalan national, received a sentence of time-served, equating to 75 days in prison. This decision was made by United States District Court Judge Julia K. Munley following Soto-Gomez’s illegal reentry into the United States after a previous removal.

Acting United States Attorney John C. Gurganus reported that Soto-Gomez was indicted by a federal grand jury after his arrest for Driving Under the Influence in Lebanon County, Pennsylvania, on April 10, 2025. Soto-Gomez had been deported from the United States under a court order in 2012 and subsequently pleaded guilty to illegal reentry before receiving his sentence.

The investigation was conducted by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Removal Operations. The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Francis P. Sempa and Tatum Wilson.

This case falls under Operation Take Back America, an initiative aimed at addressing illegal immigration and combating cartels and transnational criminal organizations while safeguarding communities from violent crime perpetrators. The operation utilizes resources from the Department of Justice’s Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETFs) and Project Safe Neighborhood (PSN).

Soto-Gomez is also facing pending state charges in Lebanon County, with an ICE detainer placed against him for deportation proceedings.
