Favio Rodas Cardona, a 32-year-old citizen of Guyana, was sentenced on April 1 to twelve months in prison for illegally reentering the United States after being previously removed, according to the United States Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania.
The case highlights ongoing efforts by federal authorities to address illegal immigration and related offenses. The sentencing took place before Senior United States District Judge Malachy E. Mannion.
United States Attorney Brian D. Miller said that Rodas Cardona was indicted by a federal grand jury following his arrest in Lebanon County, Pennsylvania, on November 5, 2025. The arrest stemmed from charges of sexual abuse of children and related offenses. Authorities said that Rodas Cardona had been removed from the country under a court order in 2013 but later returned without authorization. He pleaded guilty to illegal reentry prior to receiving his sentence.
The investigation was conducted by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Removal Operations. Assistant United States Attorney Kelley K. McGraw prosecuted the case.
This prosecution is part of Operation Take Back America, described as a nationwide initiative utilizing Department of Justice resources “to repel the invasion of illegal immigration, achieve the total elimination of cartels and transnational criminal organizations (TCOs), and protect our communities from the perpetrators of violent crime.”
