Jerry Taylor and his wife, Salome Taylor, have filed a lawsuit against their hosts following a harrowing incident that occurred during a visit to the defendants’ residence. The complaint was filed by Jerry Taylor and Salome Taylor in the Delaware County Court of Common Pleas on February 10, 2026, naming Hammed Sirleau Neckles and Margaret K. Taylor as the defendants.
The case revolves around an unfortunate accident that took place on April 14, 2025, at the defendants’ property located at 405 Custer Avenue, Glenolden, PA. Jerry Taylor alleges that while visiting the premises, he suffered significant injuries after striking his head on what is described as a defectively designed and constructed doorway and stairway leading to the back of the property. The plaintiffs claim that this accident was solely due to the negligence and carelessness of the defendants in maintaining their property. According to the complaint, “Defendants had actual notice and/or constructive notice or should have known by the exercise of reasonable care” about the dangerous condition present on their property.
The Taylors argue that this hazardous condition posed an unreasonable risk which led to Jerry’s injuries. These injuries are reported to be severe and permanent, including disc herniations and fractures requiring surgery, nerve damage, and significant mental anguish. As a result of these injuries, Jerry has allegedly been unable to perform his usual activities or work duties and has incurred substantial medical expenses.
Salome Taylor also claims damages due to loss of consortium with her husband as a direct consequence of his injuries. She asserts that she has been deprived of Jerry’s companionship and support because of his incapacitation resulting from the accident.
In seeking justice for their grievances, both plaintiffs demand judgment against Hammed Sirleau Neckles and Margaret K. Taylor for an amount exceeding $50,000 each. They are pursuing compensation for medical bills, non-economic detriment such as pain and suffering, loss of earnings capacity for Jerry Taylor, as well as expenses incurred by Salome due to her husband’s condition.
Representing Jerry and Salome Taylor is Jeffrey B. Solomon from Dion, Solomon & Shapiro L.L.C., based in Philadelphia. The case is filed under Case ID NO.: CIVIL ACTION: (2. PERSONAL INJURY) PREMISES LIABILITY – SLIP AND FALL in Delaware County Court of Common Pleas.
