Brandon Crum, a 39-year-old resident of Hazle Township in Luzerne County, Pennsylvania, has been indicted by a federal grand jury on charges related to dog fighting and drug trafficking. The announcement was made by the United States Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania.

United States Attorney Brian D. Miller stated that the indictment accuses Crum of possessing and training eight American Pit Bull Terriers for participation in dog fighting activities. Additionally, Crum is alleged to have distributed methamphetamine multiple times and possessed methamphetamine, cocaine base, and cocaine with the intent to distribute within Luzerne County.

The investigation into these allegations was conducted by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) alongside the Pennsylvania State Police. Assistant United States Attorney Kyle A. Moreno is leading the prosecution.

According to federal law, if convicted, Crum faces a maximum penalty of life imprisonment, supervised release after imprisonment, and financial penalties. Sentencing would be determined by a judge based on relevant statutes and sentencing guidelines.

“Indictments are only allegations. All persons charged are presumed to be innocent unless and until found guilty in court,” stated the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
