Gail Nossavage, a 62-year-old resident of Harding, Pennsylvania, has been sentenced to 15 months in federal prison for her involvement in a wire fraud scheme. The sentencing took place on December 3, 2025, before United States District Judge Karoline Mehalchick.
The United States Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania stated that between April 2020 and December 2021, Nossavage was employed as an administrative assistant at a church in the region. Her responsibilities included managing the church’s finances and handling monetary collections and deposits.
An investigation conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation revealed that Nossavage made at least 115 unauthorized deposits into her personal bank account using funds not related to any legitimate church activities. The FBI also discovered that she used church credit cards without permission and compensated herself with money from the church under categories such as “bonuses,” “miscellaneous,” “vacation,” and “travel.” Much of this money was spent on online gambling platforms.
In addition to her prison sentence, Judge Mehalchick ordered Nossavage to pay $184,724.68 in restitution. She will also serve a three-year term of supervised release following her incarceration.
United States Attorney Brian D. Miller confirmed these details about the case. Assistant United States Attorney Luisa Honora Berti prosecuted the matter.
