The United States Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania has announced that Jeffrey Snyder, 47, from Middleburg, was sentenced to 188 months in prison. Chief United States District Judge Matthew W. Brann delivered the sentence for possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine.

Acting United States Attorney John Gurganus reported that Snyder led Pennsylvania State Police officers on a high-speed chase through Union and Snyder counties on April 8, 2024. Upon arrest, Snyder was found with approximately 376 grams of methamphetamine, $1,390.40 in cash, a stolen vehicle, and a loaded stolen revolver in the driver’s side door. He had previously pleaded guilty on March 6, 2025.

This case is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), which aims to reduce violent crime and gun violence by bringing together law enforcement and communities. The Department launched a violent crime reduction strategy on May 26, 2021, strengthening PSN with principles such as fostering trust in communities and supporting organizations that prevent violence.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation conducted the investigation. Assistant U.S. Attorney Robin Zenzinger prosecuted the case.
