A federal grand jury in Pittsburgh has indicted Thomas Dorn, 39, of Natrona, Pennsylvania, on charges that include communicating interstate threats and threatening to assault and murder a federal official. The announcement was made by First Assistant United States Attorney Troy Rivetti.

According to the indictment, Dorn allegedly left voice messages on October 17, 2025, in which he threatened to injure and kill a victim and others. The indictment also alleges that on October 27, 2025, Dorn threatened to shoot his postal carrier and attack his local post office.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) filed a criminal complaint against Dorn on October 28, 2025. He was arrested at his home the same day. After a hearing, a federal magistrate judge determined that Dorn posed a danger to the community and ordered him held without bail while awaiting trial.

The indictment includes forfeiture allegations indicating that the government will seek to confiscate property seized during Dorn’s arrest. This property includes 11 firearms along with firearm suppressors, scopes, magazines, and various types of ammunition.

Assistant United States Attorney Brendan J. McKenna is prosecuting the case for the government. The investigation involved the FBI, United States Marshals Service, and Harrison Township Police Department.

First Assistant U.S. Attorney Troy Rivetti stated: “An indictment is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.”
