A Youngstown, Ohio resident has been sentenced to 106 months in federal prison for armed drug trafficking. The announcement was made by Acting United States Attorney Troy Rivetti. Antoine Tate, aged 44, received the sentence from United States District Judge Cathy Bissoon after pleading guilty to possession with intent to distribute fentanyl, cocaine, and oxycodone, as well as possession of a firearm related to the drug trafficking crime.

In addition to the prison term, Judge Bissoon ordered Tate to serve six years of supervised release following his incarceration. Court documents revealed that on October 31, 2020, in New Castle, Pennsylvania, Tate attempted to evade police by vehicle but was captured with a loaded pistol and significant quantities of drugs intended for distribution. He also had over $2,000 in cash at the time of arrest.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Craig W. Haller. Acting United States Attorney Rivetti praised the efforts of the Union Township Police Department, New Castle Police Department, Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) for their work leading to Tate’s prosecution.
