Mahady Sacko, a 50-year-old resident of Philadelphia, has been arrested and charged with fraudulent voting in the 2024 federal election. According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, Sacko is an undocumented immigrant who was ordered deported in 2000.

Authorities allege that Sacko voted in person during the 2024 general election for federal office. He is accused of falsely claiming to be a U.S. citizen in order to register and cast his vote.

If convicted, Sacko could face up to five years in prison.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation conducted the investigation into this case.

“The charges and allegations contained in the indictment are merely accusations. Every defendant is presumed to be innocent unless and until proven guilty in court,” stated the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

The Department of Justice continues to emphasize that criminal complaints are not proof of guilt, and all individuals charged are entitled to due process.
