Donte Samuel Brown, a 45-year-old resident of Philadelphia, has been charged with multiple robberies following a superseding indictment announced by United States Attorney David Metcalf. The charges include two counts of Hobbs Act robbery, one count of using and carrying a firearm during and in relation to a crime of violence, and one count of bank robbery.
According to the indictment, Brown is accused of robbing a Family Dollar store in Delaware County on August 15, 2024. He is also alleged to have robbed at gunpoint a Sunoco gas station in Montgomery County on January 28, 2025. Additionally, he is charged with robbing a TD Bank branch in Delaware County on February 19, 2025. Authorities state that over $8,000 was stolen across these incidents. Brown had previously been indicted for the bank and gas station robberies in July.
If found guilty on all counts, Brown could face up to life imprisonment.
The investigation involved several agencies: FBI Philadelphia’s Newtown Square Resident Agency, East Norriton Township Police Department, Ridley Township Police Department, and Upper Darby Township Police Department. Special Assistant United States Attorneys Sandra Urban and Brian Doherty are prosecuting the case.
“The charges and allegations contained in the indictment are merely accusations. Every defendant is presumed to be innocent unless and until proven guilty in court,” according to the announcement from U.S. Attorney David Metcalf.
