A Pittsburgh resident has been sentenced to 70 months in federal prison for possessing multiple firearms and ammunition as a convicted felon, according to an announcement by Acting United States Attorney Troy Rivetti.
Morisee Williams, 41, from the Knoxville neighborhood of Pittsburgh, received the sentence from United States District Judge Marilyn J. Horan. The case stems from a May 2024 search of Williams’ residence by the FBI, during which agents recovered four firearms—two of which were reported stolen—as well as approximately seven ammunition magazines, hundreds of rounds of ammunition, and firearm accessories. As someone with a prior felony conviction, Williams is legally barred from possessing firearms or ammunition under federal law.
The prosecution was handled by Assistant United States Attorneys Katherine C. Jordan and Kelly M. Locher.
Acting United States Attorney Rivetti acknowledged the efforts of the Federal Bureau of Investigation in bringing about the successful prosecution. “Acting United States Attorney Rivetti commended the Federal Bureau of Investigation for the investigation leading to the successful prosecution of Williams.”
The case was prosecuted as part of an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF) investigation. OCDETF uses a coordinated approach among federal, state, and local agencies to target significant criminal organizations involved in drug trafficking and related crimes.
