A pedestrian’s unfortunate encounter with a hazardous sidewalk has led to a significant legal battle in Delaware County, Pennsylvania. Glenda Morales filed a complaint on January 26, 2026, in the Court of Common Pleas against Steve Boley and the Township of Upper Darby, seeking justice for injuries sustained due to alleged negligence.
The case revolves around an incident that occurred on April 4, 2024, when Morales was walking along a sidewalk adjacent to Boley’s property at 6866 Radbourne Road in Upper Darby. The complaint alleges that the sidewalk was in a state of disrepair—cracked, uneven, and hazardous—posing an unreasonable risk of injury. Morales claims she tripped and fell due to these conditions, resulting in severe injuries including a fracture of her left foot’s fifth metatarsal and other physical ailments affecting her neck, back, and hip.
Morales contends that both Boley and the Township failed in their duty to maintain safe premises. The lawsuit accuses them of negligence for not inspecting or repairing the dangerous conditions or providing adequate warnings such as cones or barricades. According to the complaint, “Defendants neglected to periodically inspect, adequately maintain, repair, and/or warn pedestrians,” which directly led to Morales’s injuries.
In addition to physical pain and suffering, Morales asserts that her injuries have caused significant disruptions to her daily life and financial losses due to medical expenses and potential future costs related to ongoing treatment. The lawsuit seeks damages exceeding $50,000 plus interest and costs from Boley, the Township of Upper Darby, and any unknown parties involved (referred to as John Doe(s) 1-3).
The plaintiff is represented by Jared S. Zafran from Zafran Law Group based in Philadelphia. This case is being heard under Judge jurisdiction at the Delaware County Court of Common Pleas with Case ID: 3PVXP-OJTNZ-AZGEQ-VFHUF.
