Sandra Caserta has filed a lawsuit against a major retail corporation following an unfortunate incident that left her with severe injuries. The complaint was lodged on February 16, 2026, in the Court of Common Pleas of Delaware County, Pennsylvania, targeting both the Target Springfield West Store and its parent company, Target Corporation. This legal action highlights the responsibilities businesses have towards their patrons and raises questions about premises liability.

According to the complaint filed by Sandra Caserta through her attorney Robert A. DeLuca, Esq., the incident occurred on June 14, 2024. Caserta was shopping at the Target store located at 1200 Baltimore Pike in Springfield when she slipped and fell due to a slippery liquid substance on the floor near the cash register area. The plaintiff claims that this hazardous condition resulted from negligence on part of Target Corporation and its employees who failed to maintain a safe environment for customers. “It was the duty of the Defendant to keep and maintain the aforesaid premises in a good and safe condition,” states the complaint, which accuses Target of failing to remove or clean up the dangerous condition promptly.

The lawsuit further alleges that employees of Target had knowledge or should have had knowledge of this unsafe condition since it was near an occupied Customer Service Booth. After Caserta’s fall, a representative allegedly informed her that a child had vomited in that area and it had not been cleaned up, leading to her accident. As a result of this negligence, Caserta suffered serious injuries including damage to her head, neck, back, arms, legs, spine as well as her muscular skeletal system and nervous system. These injuries have caused her significant pain and suffering along with mental anguish.

Caserta’s legal counsel argues that these injuries were not due to any fault or negligence on her part but were directly caused by Target’s failure to ensure customer safety. The complaint lists multiple counts of alleged negligence including failing to inspect premises regularly for hazards, not issuing warnings about existing dangers, and violating recognized standards of care according to Pennsylvania law.

In seeking justice for her ordeal, Sandra Caserta is demanding compensation exceeding $50,000 from Target Corporation along with costs related to medical expenses incurred due to her injuries. She also seeks damages for lost wages as she was unable to attend work following the incident.

Representing Sandra Caserta is Robert A. DeLuca from Robert DeLuca & Associates LLC based in Havertown while details regarding attorneys representing Target Corporation remain undisclosed at this time. The case has been assigned Case ID: Not provided.
