AnnMarie Pahides and her husband, Stephen Pahides, have filed a significant lawsuit that could set a precedent for nail salon safety standards. On November 5, 2025, the couple filed a complaint in the Court of Common Pleas of Delaware County against Fiji Nails and Spa of Ardmore, Inc., alleging negligence that led to severe personal injuries for AnnMarie. The defendants also include unnamed individuals and entities referred to as John Doe 1-10 and ABC Corporations 1-10.

The complaint narrates a harrowing incident on November 6, 2023, when AnnMarie Pahides visited Fiji Nails and Spa of Ardmore for a pedicure. During the service, an employee allegedly cut her right big toe with unsanitized tools, leading to a severe infection. The plaintiffs argue that this was not an isolated incident but rather indicative of systemic negligence by the salon and its affiliates. They claim that Fiji Nails and Spa failed in their duty to maintain sanitary conditions and properly train their staff, which directly resulted in AnnMarie’s injuries.

The legal document details numerous accusations against the defendants. It alleges that they neglected their responsibilities by failing to inspect and sanitize utensils properly, ignoring hazardous conditions, inadequately training employees, and violating applicable health codes. The plaintiffs assert that these oversights created an unreasonable risk of harm to customers like AnnMarie.

As a result of the alleged negligence, AnnMarie suffered serious injuries including tenderness in her right lower leg and ankle, swelling in her foot, osteolytic changes raising concerns for osteomyelitis, cellulitis of the right lower extremity, among other issues. These injuries have reportedly led to ongoing medical expenses and impacted her ability to perform daily activities or work.

In seeking justice from the court, AnnMarie Pahides demands judgment against all named defendants for damages exceeding $50,000 plus interest and costs associated with the lawsuit. Her husband Stephen is also pursuing compensation for loss of consortium due to his wife’s injuries affecting their marital relationship.

Representing the plaintiffs is Marc S. Rosenberg from Rosenberg Law Firm located in Bala Cynwyd, PA. The case is presided over by judges at the Court of Common Pleas in Delaware County under Case ID LD No.: 44457.
