Evette Clayton has filed a lawsuit that could have significant implications for property management and safety standards. On November 18, 2025, Clayton filed a complaint in the Court of Common Pleas of Delaware County against Elizabeth L. May, James May, JJD Investment Corporation, and Big Green Landscaping, LLC. The case revolves around an incident on January 20, 2025, where Clayton alleges she suffered severe injuries due to the defendants’ negligence in maintaining safe conditions at a property located at 433 S. MacDade Blvd., Glenolden, PA.

The complaint details how Evette Clayton was legally present on the premises when she slipped and fell on ice that had accumulated due to alleged negligence by the defendants. According to the filing, both Elizabeth L. May and James May were responsible for snow and ice remediation at the location but failed to maintain safe conditions. The plaintiff accuses them of neglecting their duty to pre-treat or remove snow and ice effectively, failing to inspect the premises adequately, and not providing sufficient warnings about potential hazards.

Clayton’s lawsuit also targets JJD Investment Corporation and Big Green Landscaping, LLC for their roles in managing the property’s maintenance. The plaintiff claims these entities were equally negligent in their responsibilities to ensure safe conditions for visitors. As per Clayton’s allegations, this negligence led directly to her suffering from serious injuries including cervical disc protrusions and lumbar disc bulges which have resulted in ongoing physical pain and financial losses.

In her complaint, Clayton outlines multiple counts of negligence against each defendant individually. She asserts that all parties involved failed to exercise reasonable care under foreseeable circumstances that could lead to accidents like hers. Furthermore, she accuses them of breaching contractual obligations related to snow and ice remediation which directly contributed to her fall.

Clayton is seeking a judgment exceeding $75,000 from each defendant as compensation for her injuries. This amount covers medical expenses incurred as well as anticipated future costs related to her rehabilitation needs. Additionally, she seeks damages for emotional distress caused by the incident along with loss of earnings due to diminished earning capacity resulting from her injuries.

Representing Evette Clayton are attorneys Nicole Hatton and Lauren M. Steins from Simon & Simon P.C., based in Newtown Square, Pennsylvania. The case has been filed under Case ID: 2F6DB231-881D-4B58-B12B-5EC9316C4FCA with proceedings set in motion within Delaware County’s judicial system.
