Bruce Lindsey, a resident of Sharon, Pennsylvania, pleaded guilty on April 30 to firearm and drug trafficking charges in federal court, according to United States Attorney Troy Rivetti.
The case highlights the enforcement of federal laws prohibiting convicted felons from possessing firearms or ammunition. Lindsey, age 47, entered his plea before Senior United States District Judge Arthur J. Schwab.
According to information presented during the hearing, Lindsey was found on March 20, 2025 with a quantity of cocaine base that he intended to distribute. He also possessed a firearm during this offense after having previously been convicted of a felony. Federal law bars individuals with felony convictions from possessing firearms or ammunition.
Judge Schwab set sentencing for September 1, 2026. The statutory penalties include a minimum sentence of five years and up to life imprisonment as well as a possible fine reaching $1.5 million. The actual sentence will be determined based on the seriousness of the crimes and Lindsey’s prior criminal record under federal Sentencing Guidelines.
Assistant United States Attorney Craig W. Haller is handling the prosecution for the government. The investigation leading to these charges was conducted by the Mercer County Drug Task Force along with support from the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General, Federal Bureau of Investigation, and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
