A Wilkinsburg, Pennsylvania resident has been indicted by a federal grand jury in Pittsburgh on charges related to the production and possession of material depicting the sexual exploitation of minors, according to First Assistant United States Attorney Troy Rivetti.
The indictment identifies Anton Reed Sr., 33, as the sole defendant. It alleges that on or about July 8, 2022, Reed produced visual depictions involving the sexual exploitation of a minor. Additionally, Reed is charged with possessing videos and still images depicting the sexual exploitation of minors—some reportedly prepubescent and under the age of 12—from approximately December 10, 2022 through September 8, 2025.
If convicted, Reed faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 15 years and up to 30 years in prison, as well as a possible fine of up to $750,000. The actual sentence would be determined based on federal sentencing guidelines considering both the seriousness of the offenses and any prior criminal history.
Assistant United States Attorney Rebecca L. Silinski is prosecuting this case for the government. The investigation was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Allegheny County Police Department, and Wilkinsburg Police Department.
This prosecution falls under Project Safe Childhood—a national initiative started by the Department of Justice in May 2006 aimed at addressing child sexual exploitation and abuse. The project brings together federal, state, and local resources to find and prosecute individuals who exploit children and to help rescue victims. “An indictment is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty,” authorities stated.
